Become a Member

Interested in becoming a member?
The membership process is outlined in our bylaws. You must fill out a Membership Application and make a Pledge of Record. You may also be asked to attend an Orientation and/or a UU history class.
Membership is 100 percent voluntary, and non-members can participate in almost all aspects of congregational life without being a member. However, only members in good standing are eligible to vote at our congregational meetings. These meetings are typically held annually (or more often as the need arises), and are an important part of how the congregation functions overall.
Unitarian Universalists are congregationalists, meaning we practice congregational polity (i.e. we are self-governing.) As a self-governing Fellowship, our members vote on all significant decisions affecting the congregation, including how we spend our money, our bylaws, and who we elect to our leadership.
Each June, we honor new Members with the opportunity to sign the Membership Book and receive a gift from the Congregation during our annual new member ceremony. Participation is voluntary.
